Anaconda Python is a free software package and the preferred Python package. It can be installed on Windows and Mac computers
Download Site
- The software can be downloaded from the Anaconda site
Email Address Required
- Enter any email address and click Submit
Download Message
- You will receive an email that contains a prompt to download Anaconda Python
- Click Download Now when ready to install
Installation Confirmation - Mac
- Open a terminal
- Type python --version
Installation Confirmation - Windows
- Open an Anaconda Prompt
- Type python --version
Post Installation
- It is strongly recommended that you follow the instructions for creating a Conda (virtual) environment in the supplemental materials next
