GitHub Accounts

This example was created for MANE 3351 offered Fall 2024. The requirements are general and easily adopted to MANE 4333.

GitHub Account Creation

  • Click on Sign up to create a new account

Email Entry

  • Enter your email address (preferably UTRGV) and click continue
  • For this example, I am using a Gmail account I created for the course

GitHub Account Password

  • You will be asked to create a strong password
  • Click Continue when done

GitHub Username

  • Create a username that is available
  • Your username will be incorporated into the repository name along with the assignment name

GitHub Email Preferences

  • you will be provided an opportunity to sign-up to receive occasional product updates and announcement.
  • Signing up for email updates is optional
  • No screen capture is provided of this step

GitHub Verify Account

  • You will be prompted to verify your account by solving a puzzle
  • After verifying, a code will be sent to your email account that is needed
